‘The’ is used before:
* certain proper names of seas, rivers, mountain ranges, island groups, deserts and countries.
the Himalayas, the Yamuna, the Sahara desert, the Netherlands

* names consisting of noun + of + noun
the Bay of Bengal, the Cape of Good Hope, the Mayor of Delhi

* names consisting of adjective + noun
the New Forest, the High Street, the National Museum

* names of pop groups, orchestra groups, names of newspaper and ships
the Hindustan Times, the Doors, the Titanic
