Speech marks (Quotation Marks) are used to mark what somebody has said.
Put the speech marks at appropriate places in the following sentences:
- I want rice for lunch, said Jennifer.
- The teacher asked, would you like to go out to play?
- What time are you coming back? asked the mother.
- Miss Pearson asked, what causes rain?
- Hurray shouted the children.
- Can I borrow your book? asked Sophia.
- Come and take your sheets from the desk, told the teacher.
- Rachel asked me, is it raining heavily outside?
- Maria told her sister, it is not going to be easy to make it to top three positions.
- Where are my notes? asked Harry angrily.
- I’m not giving up hope, said Tom.
