In Verbs and more today, we are taking up the verb ‘keep’ in combination with different prepositions.

Keep back means to restrict someone from progressing
Frequent illness kept her back from getting the promotion.

Keep down means to keep in control
Please keep down your expenses to help us save money for the upcoming family event.

Keep off means to stay away from
Keep off the field.

Keep on means to continue with something
I kept on talking about my presentation and never gave a chance to my opponents to ask irrelevant questions.

Keep up means to maintain and continue with an effort
You are getting good grades in all the subjects. Keep up the good work.
