‘o’ or ‘a’

‘o’ or ‘a’

Adapt and Adopt are two words which are usually used incorrectly because of spelling errors. But the two mean so different that they completely change the meaning of the statements they are used in, making them completely weird and absurd.

Take for example:
The couple recently adapted a girl from an orphanage.
Here the use of word Adapt makes the statement completely absurd because the word adapt means to adjust oneself to circumstances. The statement should have the word Adopt which simply means to choose a child.
The couple recently adopted a girl from an orphanage.

Similarly, Vocation and Vacation are spelt incorrectly when used, which makes the statements weird.
Vocation means a particular occupation or profession. Vacation means a period of rest or recreation while you are free from your duty or business.

So, next time you use these words, just be a little more conscious before putting ‘o’ and ‘a’.
