Accede vs Exceed

Accede and Exceed are pronounced in very similar ways but their meanings are quite different.

To accede is to agree to something or to assume an office.
It is really kind of you to accede to my request of letting me go back early today.
The prince is all set to accede to the throne.

To exceed is to go beyond limits or be greater in quantity or degree.
Never exceed the speed limit on roads.
His performance exceeded all the others.
