Read the following passage:
On a cold winter night, a mother dog was feeling helpless as she could not find a shelter for her newly born puppies. If she was not able to find any cozy, warm corner, the puppies would die. So, she went to her friend who lived in a big, wooden kennel. “My puppies are dying. Please lend me your kennel for a couple of days,” she requested. Her friend replied, “I do not wish that your puppies should die in the cold. I will lend you my kennel to you for some time.” He went away leaving the kennel and the mother dog, along with her puppies, took shelter there.
After some time, the friend dog came to get back his kennel. “It’s fine weather now,” he said, “the pups will be healthy.” The mother dog found an excuse and said, “My friend! My puppies can’t walk properly. Where shall I take them? Please wait for a couple of days more.” The friend dog agreed and went away.
After some time, he returned to get his kennel back. The weather was warm and the puppies were fully grown dogs now. The mother dog smiled and said, “Throw us out if you can. My pups are grown and if you try to push us out, they will tear you into pieces.” And the mother dog chased her friend away from his own house.
The friend dog became sad and thought to himself, “How stupid I was. I did not understand the trick of my wicked friend. I generously lent my kennel and now they have driven me out.”
