Haste vs Hurry

Haste and Hurry are the words which mean exactly the same for many of us.
However, a little difference does exist in the two words.

Haste implies quickness of action
He attempted the goal in haste, but still managed to score.
I dropped a beautiful vase in my haste.

Hurry implies quickness of action in a confused state of mind.
He finishes his work in haste but never in a hurry.
I was in a great hurry and left my wallet in the chemist shop.
