Verbs-3

Let us today see verb co-ordination with the conjunctions (joining words) either-or and neither-nor.

When Either-or and Neither-nor refer to one person or thing or one of the two singular choices mentioned in a statement, they are followed by singular form of verb( is, has, plays…).

However, when two choices (or one of the two) mentioned in the statement are (is) plural, then verb takes the singular or plural form depending on the choice it follows.

Either the lame barking dog or the fighting cats wake me up in the middle of the night.
