Envelop vs Envelope

What comes to your mind when you see the words ‘envelop‘ and ‘envelope‘?
They are just the same!
Just a spelling error!

Well, the two words are definitely different and they do have different meanings.

Envelop‘ is a verb which means to surround or to wrap around.
The four layers of atmosphere envelop the earth.
The mist envelops Kufri in winters
.

Envelope‘ is a noun which means a cover as for a letter.
I got a letter from my friend in a beautiful envelope.

Hence, next time be careful with the ‘e’ in the two words.
